Kobe Suma Sea World

Kobe Suma Sea World

Client:GRANVISTA Hotels&Resorts co.,Ltd.

Open:June 2024

Location:Suma Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture

Content of work:Design / architectural design / construction

Category:Restaurant / shop

We were in charge of the interior design and construction of restaurants and retail shops at Kobe Suma Sea World, which will reopen in 2024. In this project, we designed the exhibition space and commercial area as a whole, with the theme of “an experiential space where the sea and people intersect”. Each zone is designed with a different “ocean scene” as a concept so that visitors can enjoy eating, drinking and shopping while still enjoying the afterglow of their experience at the aquarium. For each store, we also planned and created original logos and sign designs in conjunction with the interior design. The signs, which combine typography and graphic elements with motifs such as killer whales, dolphins, waves and underwater light, function as an important element supporting the world view of the entire space. From the selection of materials to the production and lighting plan, we aimed to create an extraordinary experience value throughout the space, aiming for a “sense of realism as if you were in the sea” and “combining entertainment and comfort.”
